<1> New Year’s message from Somucho Sensei, Hombucho Sensei and Hasegawa Sensei
(Kondo Katsuyuki Somucho Sensei)
Last year and the year before last were extremely eventful years for me, as I underwent a total of four surgeries and was honored with an award (The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver Rays) and attending a garden party with the Imperial Family during that time. I apologize for causing you all concern, but I have fully recovered and am no longer worried about the future. I was so happy to be reunited with you all at the Katsuura camp and the celebration party in April of last year. I look forward to seeing you all again this year both in Japan and abroad including the Katsuura camp.
I wish all members of the Daito-ryu family continued good health and success in the coming year.
Kondo Katsuyuki, Somucho
(Kondo Masayuki Hombucho Sensei)
I sincerely hope that 2026 will be a fruitful and wonderful year for all of you.
This year, as the Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Headquarters, we will continue to uphold orthodoxy while striving to provide contemporary instruction and transmission, based on the techniques and spirit passed down from our predecessors.
To ensure that students worldwide can master Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu techniques correctly and reliably, we have made the following improvements to our teaching materials and learning environment.
• Updated the “1-kajo” teaching video.
• Planned creation of new “4-kajo” and “5-kajo” teaching videos for advanced practitioners.
• Created an English version of the “Complete Guide to True Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu” video.
• Enhanced content on social media (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
• Regular online seminars held on the second Sunday of each month.
In addition to further enhancing our daily practice, we will also further strengthen our various practical seminars, such as the Katsuura camp, the overseas seminar, scheduled for this year, and joint practice sessions. We also have an international demonstration tournament scheduled for August in Katsuura and a domestic demonstration tournament in November.
In addition, we are also available to hold individual seminars and one-on-one lessons for each branch upon request.
In 2026, we will continue to do our best to help you in your martial arts journey. Let’s continue this year together in “Zekkocho!”.
